The Chesterton Art Center is so looking forward to again hosting this very special Chesterton Art Fair on August 7-8 at Dogwood Par, Chesterton, Indiana. They have taken the time during the pandemic to re-evaluate the whole fair and have added some new attractions, new food vendors, and musicians that will enhance the art fair experience.
“The exhibiting artists who travel from all over the country to be a part of the fair are very excited about showing all of the work they have created during COVID. We can’t wait to see you on Art Fair weekend!,” said Wendy Marciniak, Chesterton Art Center President.
The event will include over 60 juried artists from several states working in many different mediums. Children are invited to express their creativity at the Children’s Art Booth. Kids will be able to choose from a variety of arts and crafts that can be created onsite and taken home.
Along with a full roster of artists from around the country, the Art Fair will feature two days of local musical entertainment, such as Marco Villareal, Mike Owens, Ally Christian, Billy Foster Trio, Captain Ambivalent, and Duo Sequenza.
The Art Fair will host a variety of businesses and local organizations providing food for our visitor’s enjoyment. Ivy’s Bohemia House, The Women of the Moose, St. Elizabeth’s Orthodox Church, Dog Days Ice Cream Parlor and Tasty Viddles LLC will be offering culinary options and the Chesterton Art Center will be selling cold beverages.
The hours of the fair are 10-5 on Saturday and 10-4 on Sunday, with a daily admission charge of $5 per person, or $7 for the whole weekend. Children ages 12 and under are free. Parking is free as well. Dogwood Park is located at the corner of 1100 N and 23rd St. in Chesterton.
Proceeds from the Chesterton Art Fair are vital to the operation of the Art Center, which helps provide art education programming for the coming year. Over 1,000 children participate in art classes each year, creating projects and learning to appreciate and enjoy art in its many forms.
