Native American Thanksgiving at Friendship Botanic Gardens

,     Friendship Botanic Gardens will host a free celebration for Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month. on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 from 11am – 1pm. Children will have the chance to embark on a turkey scavenger hunt throughout the Symphony Loop of the Gardens. Count the hidden paper turkeys and get a Thanksgiving treat!
     
Then, visit the Native American Heritage Garden and enjoy getting a first-hand look at Indigenous Peoples’ cooking techniques as a garden educator demonstrates the cooking of traditional pumpkin stew over an open flame.

     Children are also invited to check out the ArcelorMittal Children’s Garden, an arena for interactive play experience which includes a playset, whimsical cabin, and a sensory garden.

    Friendship Botanic Gardens (a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization) is a community treasure and an oasis of formal gardens and wooded nature trails tucked in an old-growth forest surrounding Trail Creek. It is located at 2055 East US Highway 12, Michigan City, IN 46360.
