Miller Beach Arts & Creative District

The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District strives to be a dynamic hub of creative cultural and economic activity that transforms the unique community and environment of Miller into a vital part of the city of Gary and the surrounding region. The Miller Beach Arts & Creative District convenes artists of all media and local commercial interests, and serves as a prototype for community redevelopment.
They house art exhibits, concerts, charity fundraisers, community meetings, dance performances. Their events are open to the public and many of them are without cost. They are a non-profit organization and 95% volunteer, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved! Please leave a message on their Facebook page if interested in volunteering.
Most events occur at the Marshall J. Gardner Center for the Arts (MJGC) on weekends: Fridays and Saturdays 6-9pm, Sundays 1-4pm. We also hold a bi-annual public art street fair, an annual plein air event and other off-site events. Check back regularly to see what’s on next!
Their mission is to create a diverse, welcoming and vibrant cultural destination for the visual, performing and culinary arts as a catalyst for community regeneration, sustainability and livability; positioned on Lake Michigan’s southern beaches and Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore Park.
