**** Highly Recommended **** Mercury Theater has another huge hit with “The Producers,” the outrageously funny musical based on Mel Brooks’ 1968 Academy Award winning black and white cult classic film. If you like fast-paced dialogue, clever lyrics, slapstick comedy, pratfalls and sight gags, you’ll love this show. No matter how many times I’ve seen “The Producers” it always makes me laugh. If you’re looking for laughs, catch “The Producers”, I give it 4 BIG Spotlights.
“The Producers” runs through June 26th at the Mercury Theater Chicago, 3745 Southport Avenue, Chicago. Running time is 2 hours, 30 minutes, with an intermission. Performances are Wednesdays at 8:00 pm; Thursdays at 3:00 and 8:00 pm; Fridays at 8:00 pm; Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 pm; and Sundays at 3:00 pm. Tickets range from $30-$65.
