– Get ready for an unforgettable day of food, fun, and music! Mayor Anthony Copeland and the City of East Chicago are proud to present the Rhythm and Soul Fest, a free community celebration headlined by the legendary funk and R&B group, The S.O.S. Band.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM CDT at Washington Park Gazebo, located at 1615 E. 142nd Street, East Chicago.
Attendees will groove to the timeless hits of The S.O.S. Band, known for classics like “Take Your Time (Do It Right),” “Just Be Good to Me,” and “The Finest.” The festival promises a full day of entertainment and enjoyment for all ages, featuring:

“We are excited to bring the community together for this fantastic Juneteenth Celebration”, said Mayor Anthony Copeland. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy world-class music from The S.O.S. Band, support local vendors, and spend quality time with family and friends in one of our beautiful parks. Best of all, it’s completely free.”
Admission to the Rhythm and Soul Fest is FREE for everyone. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable seating. Convenient parking is available near Block Stadium.
Please note that for the safety and enjoyment of all guests, NO GRILLING OR COOKING is permitted in the park during the festivals. Please support our vendors.
