IN March, 2018, the Schererville Parks and Recreation Department will host its first Indiana Master Naturalist class series. The class runs on Wednesdays from March 1st through May 3rd from 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM. All classes are held at the Schererville Community Center, 500 E. Joliet Street Schererville, IN 46375.
“We are so excited to offer this class in Schererville,” Maddie Grimm, Recreation Coordinator, said. “It is a great way for residents to connect to the natural world.”
Topics covered are: Water, Wildflowers, Amphibians, Natural Resources, Backyard Wildlife, Wild Edibles, Geology, Trees, Regional Ecology Field Trip.
The Indiana Master Naturalist program provides students with many hands-on opportunities to learn about our Hoosier natural resources. It also provides a way for students to share that knowledge, along with life experiences, through volunteer service.
