The Porter County Master Gardener Training class will begin February 4th and run through to May 12th. This year our class will be held in a new room at the Porter County Administration Building. We are recruiting right now for class attendees (capacity 30). The cost of the class is $200.00.
The Master Gardener Program is designed to help gardeners grow by providing them with intensive training in horticulture principles. Participants, in turn, share their knowledge by providing volunteer leadership, and service to their communities.
If you are a Master Gardener and are interested in updating or refreshing your horticulture knowledge, you may attend one or all of the classes at no cost, and you will gain education hours for attending. There are 15 slots open, first come, first serve, for Porter County Master Gardeners.
Please RSVP to Lyndsay at lploehn@purdue.edu (or 219-465-3555) by Jan 26th if you are interested in attending class. Master Gardeners please contact her and let her know which class(es) you plan to attend. If you would like to purchase a manual (updated in 2012), Lyndsay will have some available for purchase.
