This is the first Fall musical Marian Theatre Guild has done since the pandemic so they wanted something really hilarious and over the top to bring back live theatre in Whiting.

“Young Frankenstein fits the bill. “I mean it IS Mel Brooks, for cryin’ out loud,” joked Betty Jo Diaz, Co-Director.”

With a company of 25 actors and singers, the special treat for the audience will be the dance numbers.

“We have dancing monsters,” added DeeJai Halicky, co-director.

Both DeeJai and Betty Jo have directed at the Guild before  as well as spent time on the boards in many shows.  This diverse cast comes from a number of different cities including Munster, Dyer, Hammond, Lake Station and Whiting bringing incredible amount of experience to the show.

Both Halicky and Diaz agree that the humor in the show is similar to the duo’s own sense of humor, describing it as “dark and quick.”
