LaPorte Spring Garden Show

     La Porte County Master Gardeners SPRING GARDEN SHOW is Saturday,
March 21, 2020 at Michigan City High School from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Beth Botts will be the Keynote Speaker with other adult sessions and
programs for children. There will be an all-day Kids Fun Zone and a Kid’s Scavenger Hunt.There will be vendors and food. Admission is $10. Children under 12 are free.

Keynote Speaker,   
    Beth Botts will present two talks: “Growing Green in a Changing Climate” from 10 AM – 11 AM. The changing climate doesn’t affect our gardens; our gardens play a role; how to have an adaptable garden for continuing enjoyment and reduce your garden’s climate footprint. Her second talk will be “Vegetables Anywhere: How to Fit Farming into Your Life” from 1 PM until 2 PM. This talk will be about edible gardening in small urban spots, courtyards, raised beds, balconies, roofs, vertical gardening in small spaces. Beth has written thousands of articles and blog posts for the Chicago Tribune and as a freelance writer for magazines. She also has a new book: ILLINOIS, INDIANA & OHIO MONTH-BY-MONTH GARDENING: WHAT TO DO EACH MONTH TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN ALL YEAR.    

    SPEAKER LINE UP: 
    Some of the other Speakers will be:
– Dolly Foster: “Gardening for the Monarchs”;
– Bob Dixon: “How to Keep Flowers at Their Best”;
– Carrie Conway: “Spring Salads”;
– Karen Richey: “Food Preservation.”
Other sessions will be about Bats, Landscaping, and Bees.

     There will be Vendors, Door Prize and Food.  This is a kid-friendly event!
