The 17th annual Active Living Faire at Wolf Lake will feature a Fishing Clinic for youngsters and the bi-state Labor Day Bike Ride on Monday, Sept. 7.
Sponsored by the Association for the Wolf Lake Initiative (AWLI), the 20-mile ride, with frequent stops along the way, will begin at 8:30a.m. with a sign-up in the parking lot of the Environmental Education Center, 2405 Calumet Ave. Riders will view all parts of the watershed, while enjoying early autumn colors.
Sign-up for the Fishing Clinic also begins at 8:30 a.m. and will continue to 11a.m. Instructors will include Joe Kruczek, Jim Buiter and John Talarico. Buiter is president of AWLI and all instructors are AWLI members.
On-line registration is required for both events. Consult Labor Day Bike Ride on AWLI’s Website at www.wolflakeinitiative.org.
Registration deadline for both events is August 28. Bike riders are required to wear helmets and all participants in both events are required to wear face masks.
The Active Living Faire is organized to promote health and fitness for visitors to the Wolf Lake watershed and it’s free to the public.
