Dance and Donate expanded in April with an Open Mic Format, and the events included all talent.
Their April event was held Monday, April 25th at 7 p.m. at Gastro 49 Bar and Grill, in Chesterton Indiana to a packed standing room only audience. Acts included singing, guitar, piano, poetry and comedy led by Grammy Contender Keenan Baxter.
The event is hosted by Keenan Baxter, a local jazz pianist of the Chicagoland – NWIndiana area, is a Grammy Contender (2006) and also an arranger/producer/composer. Keenan offers a FULL BAND SOUND performing original music & a few favorites. As a composer, he had over a dozen CDs to his credit by the age of 21. He is # 1 in the Valparaiso in Jazz by Reverbnation where you can listen, see videos & connect. When you hear him play his own compositions you know that you are in the presence of a musical genius.
There was also jewelry and ceramics, essential oils art, wraps and beach body friends. Folks were invit3ed to bring a canned good, dog item, or a donations for the community. Food and Drink specials were availalbe the whole night, so even if you didn’t make the performance, attendees could still come and partake in the festivities.
