**** Highly Recommended **** Get over the winter blues with a little swashbuckling! First Folio Theatre’s “Captain Blood” is a lot of fun, what with tongue-in-cheek dialogue, pirates, swordfights, a boo-worthy villain, a sword wielding heroine who saves herself, and a HEA (happily ever after) kiss at the end! It’s pure escapism and I loved it! 4 Spotlights
“Captain Blood” runs through February 26th at First Folio Theatre, Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st St., at Rt. 83, Oak Brook. Running time is 2 hours including an intermission (tea and cookies served). Performances are Wednesdays at 8:00 p; Thursdays at 3:00 pm; Fridays at 8:00 pm; Saturdays at 4:00 and 8:00 pm; and Sundays at 3:00 pm. Tickets range from $29-$39. Parking is free.
