Mark you calendars for the Friends of Indiana Dunes Annual Plant Sale is held every year on a Saturday on April 24th, 2021, from 8am til 1pm. The Native Plant Sale will again be held at the Indiana Dunes Tourism Visitor Center, located at 1215 North State Road 49 in Porter, Indiana. (North of Interstate 80-94 and south of US 20) As always, admission is free.
The Space for the native plants is limted so we strongly urge you to pre-order. The supply of plants on hand the day of the sale will be determined by their popularity as a pre-order item. The pre-orders are filled in the sequence they are received. Every year, several varieties will sell out before the day of the sale, as those plants are filled by pre-orders.
The Native Plant sale pre-order forms will be available at the State Park Office, Chesterton Feed and Garden Center, and the Indiana Dunes Tourism Center by February 15th. To request that a pre-order be mailed to you, please contact Zella Olson, at 219-926-3833 or email@example.com. The deadline for submitting is April 6th.
More than 100 native plant species, including woodland flowering plants and ferns; dry medium and wet prairie flowering plants, as well as grasses, shrubs, and trees are available. All varieties come in pots and are native to Northwest Indiana, Northeast Illinois, and Southwest Michigan.
