Dancing with the Local Stars, a charity event that will benefit the American Cancer Society, pairs an amateur dancer with a dance instructor from a local dance studio and will take place on Thursday, Feb. 25TH from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   This year’s celebrities are: Annie Fox, radio personality; Marriza Negrete, state director of the Miss Indiana Latina Pageant; Christopher Kosovich, owner of Kosovich Media Group LLC; Antonio Gutierrez, owner of Hoosier Property Maintenance Inc.; and Marvin Rodas, coach at Intense Conditioning. Each celebrity is paired with a professional dancer from a local dance studio. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for youth 17 and under and are good for all the EVENINGS activities.  According to the Bourget’s, the competitors have spent the last 8-10 weeks learning two routines  taught to them by a local dance instructor who will also be their dance partner that evening.  The instructors have all donated their time to make sure each amateur is ready.
The competition will start with all seven contestants dancing the Four-Count Hustle together at the same time to work out the jitters.  Following the group performance, the contestants will perform a solo routine with their dance instructor/partner.  Spectators can expect to see performances from  the foxtrot, mambo, rumba, samba, tango, and many other favorites.

There will be professional dance competition on Friday, Feb. 26, and Saturday, Feb. 27th, and a professional dance show on Saturday, Feb. 27th. Additionally, the public is welcome to compete in an amateur/amateur salsa dance competition on Saturday, Feb. 27th.

The public is invited to watch as professional and amateur dancers compete in various divisions and dance styles including the waltz, tango, rumba, swing, foxtrot and cha-cha.
