Hammond’s Holiday Kick Off Celebration

The Downtown Hammond Council is seeking VENDORS who will WOW shoppers at the 9th Annual Holiday Kick-off Celebration:
a Tribute to Jean Shepherd in DOWNTOWN HAMMOND along Hohman Avenue between Sibley Blvd. and Harrison Park! This event will take place on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 from 10 am – 4 pm.

EXPLORE and DISCOVER our Downtown!
Visit each participating business/organization and join in the fun activities in order to be entered to win major awards! Start at any location you wish and get a punch card. Watch for signs and flags outside of each participating business. Prizes include a $250 Albert’s Diamond Jewelers Gift Certificate, a Android tablet and a full size leg lamp. (No punch required at the horse and carriage ride or Flagpole at Harrison Park, but please don’t miss this stop.)

Completed punch cards must be dropped off by 3:30 pm at EAT or It’s Just Serendipity in order to be eligible for Major Awards drawings.

• Design your own leg lamp lamp shade ($1)
• Shoot-Your-Eye-Out game sponsored by Cabela’s ($1)

• Receive one free peppermint ice cream cone (limit one per person)
• Shop for groceries, snacks and sandwiches

3. Harrison Park Hohman Avenue and Webb Street
• Horse & Carriage Rides (Adults $3/Children $2/ Veterans Free with ID)
• Look for the fire truck to meet and greet the Hammond Fire Department and take a picture at the flag pole…we triple dog dare you

4. It’s Just Serendipity 5630 Hohman Avenue at Williams Street
• Downtown Hammond Council information booth
• Shopping: Antiques, one-of-a-kind gifts, local artists, gift baskets, and much more
• Drop off your non-perishable food items for N.W. IN Food Bank
• Turkey Bowling ($1)

• Shop at “Higbee’s Department Store” for specialty vendors (handmade goods, vintage, garage sale and more) Receive an extra ticket* for a chance at one of our Major Awards by purchasing from our “Higbee’s” vendors. *Limit one ticket per person, per vendor.

• Purchase a serving of the turkey dinner that the Bumpus Hounds didn’t steal

• Mrs. Shield’s Classroom: Letters to Santa, kids receive a free book sponsored by Discover Books
• Holiday cookie contest ($5 per batch)
• Movie character costume contest
