New this year, the Griffith Generals baseball team is pitching from the Griffith H.S. Field at 901 W. Pine St., Griffith, Indiana. Opening Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th, first pitch is at 7:10 PM. Part of the Northern League, they are batting against the Elkhart County Miracle, Indiana Panthers, Lake County Corndogs, Northwest Indiana Oilmen, and the Southland Vikings.
Games run from May 30th thru August 1st. Free Generals Baseball Kids Camp will take place from June 6th thru August 2nd for ages five thru twelve.

The Northern League, based in the Northwest Indiana area, is seeking broadcasting and media relations interns for the 2023 summer season. The internship begins in mid- to late May and runs through early to mid-August.
The Northern League is entering its 14th season of aiding pre-professional athletes in their baseball development. Numerous alumni have reached the professional ranks including St. Louis Cardinals All-Star infielder Paul DeJong, former Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tony Cingrani, former New York Mets outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski and Milwaukee Brewers 2016 No. 5 overall pick Corey Ray.
In addition to aiding players in their development, the league has a track record of helping young broadcasters reach the next level. Numerous former broadcasters have gone on to continue their careers in the professional ranks.
The internship program offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to hone one’s skills in all aspects of broadcasting and media relations. The internship is available for college credit and college students pursuing a career in broadcasting or a related field are encouraged to apply. Interns also receive a summer stipend. The following positions are available for the 2023 summer season.
