**** Recommended **** Everybody’s talking about “War Paint”. I keep hearing random people asking other people if they’ve seen it/got tickets. Tickets are available for “War Paint”, a glamorous, sophisticated, high-fashion paean to cosmetics, but at a premium price. My only criticism – I found it hard to feel empathy for these two larger-than-life, successful women. “War Paint” is ready for Broadway, so I give it 4 Spotlights.
“War Paint” runs through August 21st in the Goodman Theatre’s Albert Theatre, 170 N. Dearborn, Chicago. Running time is 2 hours, 35 minutes, with an intermission. Performances are Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:30 pm; Thursday at 2:00 and 7:30 pm; Friday at 8:00 pm; Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 pm; and Sunday at 2:00 and 7:30 pm. Tickets range from $44-$200. Parking is available at a slightly reduced rate in the Government Center Garage (with a validation) or you can take advantage of the online payment option: payment in advance is just $16.50.
