Gina Bell Joins Taltree Arboretum Valparaiso Indiana

Taltree Arboretum & Gardens proudly welcomed Gina Bell to its team, representatives announced Monday, April 25th, 2016. Bell assumes the role of director of events and sponsorships for Taltree.  Bell will coordinate the unprecedented 50-plus events hosted at Taltree in 2016 as well as strengthen and develop sponsorships aimed at supporting the non-profit’s mission.

“We are thrilled to add Gina to the Taltree family,” Executive Director Stephanie Blackstock said. “Her experience in the Region, leadership, knowledge, talent and passion are a perfect fit for Taltree and our mission.” Taltree was renamed Gabis Arboretum in 2018.

Bell comes to Taltree after serving as volunteer coordinator and life coach for Habitat for Humanity of Northwest Indiana. At Habitat, Bell initiated the practice of planting a tree in the yard of each new Habitat home and created the Habitat for Humanity Caroling Project, a program that brings patrons to Habitat homes for caroling and bringing small gifts during the holidays.

She previously served as community liaison and volunteer coordinator for Brookwood School District 167 in Glenwood, Ill. “My core values match those of Taltree’s mission of environmental stewardship,” Bell said. “I’m eager to help Taltree grow by enhancing community partnerships and introducing more people to Taltree through a wide variety of events.  I’m thankful to be a part of this growing team.”

Bell is a native of Chicago Heights, Ill. and a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, NY. She and her husband, Rob, live in Dyer with their six children.
