Gene Weygandt shines in “Uncle Philip’s Coat” at the Greenhouse

***** Highly Recommended ***** A one-man show is probably an actor’s most daunting job.  Describing a one-man show, an actor once told me that for however long there’s an audience in the seats, there’s no back-up, no safety net, no one to toss you a line, it’s just you.  The other day at the Greenhouse, it was just Gene Weygandt, and he definitely didn’t need a safety net.  His solo performance in “Uncle Philip’s Coat” was beyond amazing!  I give it 4 BIG Spotlights.

“Uncle Philip’s Coat” runs through December 31st at The Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. Running time is 70 minutes, no intermission. Performances are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8:00 pm; Saturday at 2:30 and 8:00 pm; Sunday at 2:30 pm. Tickets range from $34-$48.
