Four Ways That Raw Honey Can Benefit Your Skin

Four Ways That Raw Honey Can Benefit Your Skin

Honey is a delicious addition to many types of foods and beverages. It goes with almost everything. But did you know you can also add raw honey to your cosmetics products to get glowing skin? Here are four ways that raw honey can benefit your skin.

Make Your Own Face Mask

Using raw honey to make your own face mask is cheaper and more convenient than going to a salon. To make a soothing face mask at home, combine tea leaves and a teaspoon of honey into a small bowl. Mix them together until it forms a thick paste. Then, rub the paste all over your face and leave it on for ten to fifteen minutes before gently rubbing it off with lukewarm water. When you’re done, your skin will feel very smooth and look clearer.

Rub Honey Over Skin Rashes

If you have a skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis, just spread a layer of honey over the irritated patch of skin. Sure, it’s very sticky. But by leaving the honey on your skin for just a few minutes, you’ll find temporary relief. If you don’t like the sticky texture on your hands or feet, you can cover the area with gloves or socks. By leaving the affected area covered overnight, you allow the antioxidants to work their way into your skin until the next morning. You’ll wake up with your skin feeling smoother and less itchy.

Add Honey to Your Skin Products

If you use a lot of skin care products, they can get expensive. The nice thing about honey is that if you add it to your these products, you won’t need to use as much. Even just a little bit of honey provides enough antioxidants to help your skin heal and glow. Since honey is a natural product, it won’t result in adverse skin effects. Adding it to acne cream will clear up blemishes faster than your cream would by itself.

Substitute Aloe with Honey for Sunburns

This is a very popular time for painful sunburns. If you get a sunburn and you don’t have aloe, honey can give you the same relief. You can also use honey before you put on your sunscreen to reduce your likelihood of burning.

These are just a few ways that raw honey can benefit your skin. Experiment with it. Come up with a new type of face mask. Have fun, and enjoy your skin.
