LaPorte County Master Gardeners Spring Garden Show titled “Think, Eat, Live Green” will feature keynote speakers, seminars and demonstrations, a gardening series for children, garden and food vendors plus door prizes and raffles. The event will be held on Saturday, March 19th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Michigan City High School. It promises to be a fun and informative day for the whole family.
Speakers include: Dawn Pape: “The Lawn Chair Gardener;” Steve Sass: President of the Northern Indiana Chapter of INPAWS; Victoria Jostes: Master Gardener and Master Naturalst; and Chef Brad Hindsley: Spire Farm-to-Fork Restaurant.
A variety of local vendors will feature handcrafted items. Food and beverages provided by Spire Farm-to-Fork Catering and Purdue Extension La Porte County – Homespun Harmony Extension Homemakers. Raffles throughout the day. Gift bags for paid attendees (first come, first served).
Over 15 Breakout Sessions including: Natives and Wetlands; Monarch Butterflies; Honey Bees; Succulents; Pruning 101; Backyard Chickens; Vertical Gardening; Bonsai for Beginners & Enthusiasts and Herbs and More.
And there’s plenty for The Kids: Children under 12 are admitted free, and can attend workshops when accompanied by an adult. The cost for this event is only $10 per person payable at the door and children under 12 are free.
