The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a day of hope and celebration for members of the community who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and it’s happening soon – at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point and at Washington Park in Michigan City.
The Lake County Walk to End Alzheimer’s is being held on Sunday, at Lake County Fairgrounds, located at 889 South Court St. in Crown Point, Ind. Registration begins at 12 p.m. The opening ceremony and the 1 and 3 mile Walk routes will kick off at 1:45 p.m. Together, we can raise awareness and funds to enhance Alzheimer’s care and support and advance critical research.

These events are a fantastic way for the community to rally together, and it’s had a successful outcome for furthering research on Alzheimer’s disease and support local families.

Two local residents, Colleen Duffy and Erica Caluag, along with their families, are walking due to their experiences with Alzheimer’s disease. Their experiences may have been difficult, but through community support, both ladies now give back to the Association. Read Colleen’s story here, and Erica’s story here.
