Don’t miss this special once a year doll show! Dealers from Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio will display their items! Includes the sale of dolls, bears, toys and anything doll related. Admission is $6.00 for everyone. The show will be held Sunday, September 11th from 9am – 3pm at the Porter county Expo Center in Valparaiso Indiana.
The club hosts this fundraiser once a year – the annual Doll Show, held in Vaparaiso, Indiana at the Expo Center. The club works all year preparing for the show in September. They have about 130 tables of vendors selling everything from antique to modern dolls, bears, miniatures, accessories, books, and even fabric. It is the largest doll show in Northwest Indiana. At the Doll Show you can sell, buy, bring damaged dolls to the Doll Hospital for repair, and learn a little something with our large themed display. The proceeds go to both local and national charities, donating over $3,000. We are always looking for new vendors with unique doll items to broaden our collections, so please contact us if you can help with that!
The Valparaiso Dolls and Friends Club was accepted into the UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) membership on Feb. 7th, 1986. Being a part of the UFDC allows us access to a vast array of doll resources. The UFDC has a large convention each year and publishes an outstanding quarterly magazine called Doll News.
Every doll has a story and we love to share those. We have found that everyone collects something slightly different and we help each other to explore and find new items. Our club also includes some members who are qualified in doll repair and identification. So if you have an old mystery or damaged doll we probably have a member who could help you, or let you know if it is worth repairing it.
