Ever had a day where things just did not seem to be just right? That kernel of an idea was the seed from which the new comedy, “The Great Mundane Life of Gregory,” formed. The production, written and directed by local artists Ross Myers and Adam Pindrock, will make its world premiere at the Genesius Guild of First United Methodist Church Hammond April 22-May 1.

“There is a lot of subtle humor in the script that our cast does a great job of portraying to the audience,” says Mary Pasyk, who plays the role of Gregory’s wife. “I can’t help but laugh in the middle of a scene sometimes. I think people will enjoy the freshness of the show. It is unlike anything I have ever seen before.”

“I’m thrilled to get the chance to play a new character,” says Tom Knoerser, who plays Gregory. “Personally, it’s a new challenge, because I’m essentially a mime. I’m a really social kinda guy, but they won’t let me talk! It’s forced me to explore new ways to get my intent across to the audience, and made me grow. Oh, and it’s been fun, too!”

Aside from Mion, Pasyk, and Knoerser, the cast includes local actors Ryan Graan, Jimmy Burch, Harry Ogrentz, Stephanie Hamilton, Jonathon Drake and Dion Seiluns.

“We really hope that the audience will walk away still laughing and saying ‘I’m glad I came,’” said Pindrock. “We just want everyone to have as much fun as we did writing the show and directing it.”

The Great Mundane Life of Gregory” will be performed in the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church of Hammond, 6635 Hohman Ave. in Hammond, Indiana, at 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. A 3 p.m. matinee will be performed Sunday afternoons. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for senior citizens and students high school age or younger. Tickets are available at the door or by calling toll-free 877-724-7715. A group discount is available for groups of 15 or more; contact the box office for details and reservations.
