     Mayor Uran’s Office of Special Events is planning for the biggest event of the year on March 17, 2020 The eighth annual nighttime St. Patrick’s Day Parade will commence at dusk featuring emergency vehicles, lit entries, Band of Brothers Pipes and Drums, Lake County Pipes and Drums, Grand Marshall Mayor David D. F. Uran, the Junior Grand Marshall Event Logo Contest Winner and much more.

     There is the Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinners. The dinner will take place at the Crown Point Fire Station from 3-6 p.m.  Adult dinners are $10.00, senior dinners are $9.00, children’s corned beef and cabbage dinners are $6.00 and children’s hot dog dinners are $4.00. Dinners are available for pre-purchase by calling 662-3290 and will also be available at the door.
     Other festivities will include the Downtown Business Window Decorating Contest. The contest is for Crown Point businesses located in the downtown historic district. The Redevelopment Commission is offering reimbursement for decorating supplies of up to $100.00 for competing businesses.
      Other St. Patrick’s Day enjoyments will include the Glow Irish Run/Walk, and the sixth annual St. Baldrick’s Event. The event will be held at the Crown Point Fire Station from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

     Celebration festivities begin on the historic Crown Point Courthouse Square prior to the parade start at dusk. Vendors will be selling items on the South side of the Courthouse Square such as concessions, parade novelties, traditional Irish heritage items, jewelry, glow sticks and festive Irish themed items beginning at 3pm.
     The parade will commence during snow, rain or shine on South Main Street around the square. The Mayor’s Office of Special Events is now accepting applications for both parade entries and food vendors. Applications are available online.
