Join CTG under the stars for a modern-twist on classic-romp about the love/hate courtship of Petruchio and the headstrong Katherina. Order tickets online at www.chicagostreet.org
Julius Caesar, one of history’s most famous assassination conspiracies, was brought to life through Shakespeare’s words in 1599. But this year’s Shakespeare in the Park will tell a story of fear, pride, paranoia, underground conspiracy, and an inner conflict that leads to the murder of a best friend and beloved hero — and this time, it will be told by all women’s voices. Watch Rome’s most powerful Triumvirate teach us the dangers of both power- hungry villainy and weak-minded naivety — and lots of rad battle scenes. “Let slip the dogs of war!”
Our Central Park Plaza experience is even bigger and better this year with the help of the Valparaiso Creative Arts Council and the Northwest Indiana Excellence in Theatre Foundation during the street festival event with exhibits, family activities and performances from theatre groups from all over Northwest Indiana.
Tickets for the VIP reserved section of the park are just $15 per person. Beyond the roped off section all seats are free. Audience members are encouraged to bring camping chairs, blankets, and picnic items to enjoy this community arts experience under the stars.
