A Special Baseball Exhibition Competition will take place from July 7th thru July 11th with the Serbian National Baseball team on their first U.S. Tour! This competition is sure to be exciting and competitive! (no game on July 10th)
The first recorded baseball game in Serbia was played in 1935. The first baseball club was formed in 1974, and they played in the second tier of Yugoslavian baseball league. Its national team was formed in 1994. The Baseball Union of FR Yugoslavia was admitted to the Confederation of European Baseball in 1996, and the same year the national team participated in the B-group European Baseball Championship in Great Britain. It recorded its first victory against Lithuania in 1998 on the B-group European Championships in Stockerau, Austria. In the 2004 during the B-group championships in Germany, they took fourth place. Serbia won the 2016 C-group European Baseball Championship in Slovenia and thus qualified for the B group. Along with Poland, they will host the B group European Championship in Belgrade, 24–29 July 2018.
The 1500 seat Oil City Stadium is located in historical downtown Whiting Indiana, it’s a spectacular ballpark with over 120 events held a year.
