Save Saturday, July 9 for Northwest Indiana’s Premier Garden Walk in Porter County
Gardeners and nature lovers will enjoy a variety of settings at this year’s Porter County Garden Walk, Saturday, July 9 from 9 am to 4 pm. Featured sites range from a cool, tranquil hilltop English shade garden with Beacon Hill Boston-inspired window boxes overflowing with blooms to native plants in peaceful, woodland settings. Porter County Master Gardeners Association and Purdue Extension Porter County sponsor the annual event – now in its 14th year. This year’s sites are located in and around Valparaiso and Chesterton.
Advance tickets are $6 and go on sale June 25 at the following locations: Chesterton Feed & Garden, 400 Locust Street, Chesterton; and in Valparaiso at Four Seasons Landscaping Nursery, 226 E US Hwy 6, one mile east of State Road 49; Horses Garden Center, 198 West State Road 130; Jake’s Feed & Garden, 326 South State Road 49; Philips Ace Hardware, 3100 Calumet Ave.; Porter County Extension Office, 155 Indiana Avenue, Suite 301; Reed’s Nursery & Garden Center, 2253 South State Road 2; Town & Country Market, 1605 Calumet Avenue; WRF Nursery & Garden Center, 253 East 150 South.
Day of the Walk tickets are $8, and may be purchased between 9 am 2 pm at Garden of Heroes at Hayes Leonard Elementary School in Valparaiso, on the northeast corner of U.S. 30 and Hayes Leonard Road.
