Save Saturday, June 25 for Northwest Indiana’s Premier Garden Walk in Porter County www.pcgarden.infohttp://www.pcgarden.info

This year we’re showcasing six outstanding & quite wonderful gardens!

And they’re all clustered in and around Valparaiso. One internationally-acclaimed plant breeder’s landscape you enjoyed 10 years ago; see how it’s evolving and thriving! Another includes a lush collection of unusual cultivars, a koi pond and espaliered fruit trees. Two doors down from that you’ll enter a landscape designer’s artful arrangement of native perennials, a rain garden and . . . a chicken coop!

For contrast, there’s a study in permaculture transforming the front yard into a micro prairie of native plants, trees, shrubs and grasses; this garden received a Bringing Nature Home Award from Shirley Heinz Land Trust. We’ve also included a pastoral high meadow of manicured lawns, formal boxwoods and pops of perennial color. Finally, we invite you to enjoy one of Porter County’s favorite public gardens where you may browse vibrant, redesigned and newly-installed beds.
