Keytarjeff,  Oscar & The Majestics, and Dixie Crush will be performing on Sunday, August 5, 2018, between 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., at  the Indiana American Water Company Pavilion at Founders Square Park.  Part of the Portage 2018 Summer Music Series, Founders Square concert fests are held the first Sunday through September! Indiana American Water Company Pavilion at Founders Square Park is located on the north side of the new Portage Fire Station #3 at 6300 Central Avenue, in Portage.

First on stage, Keytarjeff, whose rave-review one-man “Rockestra” show, demonstrates his masterful ability to play the “keytar” ( a cross between a keyboard synthesizer and a guitar)– and sound like an entire orchestra! Keytarjeff is Portage resident Jeff Abbott and is recognized  internationally as one of the premier keytar players in the world. His  brilliant keytar playing and dynamic vocal talents present a unique, high-energy interpretation of classic rock,  blues, R&B, jazz, and alternative rock music. Praised in such prestigious music publications as Keyboard magazine and by some of America’s most respected musicians, including Robert “Bobby” Martin (who performed on Frank Zappa’s tours and live albums), and Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater band), Keytarjeff has performed around the world, and he has toured and worked with a wide range of acts including The Spencer Davis Group, Survivor founder Jim Peterik, and many Motown artists, including Ben E. King, The Drifters, Mary Wells, and The Shirelles.

The original Chicago/Northwest Indiana “Garage Rock” band of the 60’s era, Oscar & The Majestics  has shared the stage with legendary Chuck Berry, The Temptations, and The Dells, among others. “Rock ‘n’ roll is something that just stays with you. It never goes away and it certainly hasn’t for us,” notes Gary-born Oscar Hamod, guitarist, lead vocalist, songwriter, and namesake of the four-member band.  Also in the band, Walt Jachimczak, on drums; Mike Dahlgren, bass guitar and vocals; and, Julie Jachimczak, keyboard, percussion, backing vocals. Today the band’s impressive set list includes their own hits, such as “Jackie, Jackie” and “Come On Willie,” as well as rave-review covers of a variety of classics, from 60’s rock, through 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and into the 2000’s songs.  Moreover, the band’s large repertoire includes the music of The Rolling Stones, The Temptations, The Beatles, The Who, Santana, The Eagles, Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Buffet, Steve Miller, as well as some blues and country rock.

Chicago-based Dixie Crush is the Midwest’s ultimate Modern Country Music band, covering the biggest Top 40 hits of today’s country music!  Dixie Crush Band’s lineup of talented musicians and singers recreate the big, rich-layered sound of today’s most-popular country music, including the songs of  Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, Zac Brown, and more. Dixie Crush band members are Lindsey Crush – Lead Vocal; Mike Denning – Guitar; Mike Killebrew – Guitars ;Tom Barr – Bass; and Jim Nonneman – Drums. Delivering a boot stompin’, enery-packed performance every time, whether you like to line dance or simply sing along, count on Dixie Crush to bring the fun!
