Join the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra and Music Director/Conductor Kirk Muspratt for “One Small Step” Concert.
Concert is located at the Monbeck Auditorium at Highland High School and will feature the Symphony Chorus and special guest former NASA Astronaut Colonel Jerry Ross.

Celebrate the bravery of America’s first astronauts and the awe of space at this concert!  Cinema and the Symphony meet as videos and photos from the historic 1969 Moon Landing will be shown. Patrons will enjoy  two of Copland’s most popular pieces, Fanfare for the Common Man and Appalachian Spring. In addition, Themes from Star Wars, Star Trek and Apollo 13, Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra from 2001 will be included. A selection of Holst’s Planets will make this an out-of-this-world experience.

Colonel Jerry Ross, a Crown Point native, will give a short presentation about his time in space with his own photos from his career as an astronaut aboard the space shuttle.

Tickets are $33-$73 with student tickets at just $10.

This concert is generously sponsored by  the Women’s Assoc., MonoSol, Georgia and Carsten Falkenberg, John Cicco’s, and Millies Engineering.
