The Michigan City Kiddie Parade will return in 2021, hosted by the Michigan City Police Department. Use your imagination and create a float, or costume and have some fun. The parade route will begin at 11 am with Judging at 7th and Franklin. It is open to all children 0-12 years old! Parade starts at 11am, travels south from 10th Street down to Franklin Street to Ames Stadium. Contact Rhonda Swistek at 219-874-3221, ext. 1021. Hosted by Michigan City police.
Judging will be at the lineup for the parade. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and run north on Franklin Street to 4th Street at the Michigan City Public Library. Franklin Street will be closed to traffic. All participants are asked to park at the Horizon Bank parking lot at 5th and Pine streets.
Trophies and ribbons will be awarded by a host of celebrity judges, including our Grand Marshal’s, Mr & Mrs. Santa Clause!
The parade contest categories include:
Costumed Individuals (0-5 years)
Costumed Individuals (6-12 years)
Decorated Wagons,
Decorated Bikes,
Pets, (with costumed individual)
Organized Groups under 15 members
Organized Groups over 15 members
Free hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served to all participants after the parade.
