The Purdue Master Gardeners proudly present “A Day In The Gardens” Garden Walk, July 8, 2017,
9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Come and visit some of Lake County’s finest Gardens, featured this year in Dyer, Crown Point and Lowell. Tickets are $10.00 per person and are available, beginning June 1, 2017, at the following locations:

  • The Artful Garden, 118 S. Main St, Crown Point;
  • Elizinga Farm Market, 1587 Joliet St, Dyer;
  • Niemeyer’s Landscape Supply, 810 N. Indiana Ave, Crown Point;
  • The Secret Shed, 8125 Austin Ave, Schererville;
  • Walt’s Food Center, 1218 Sheffield Ave, Dyer;
  • Century II Insurance, 322 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell; and
  • Purdue Extension Lake County, 2293 N. Main St, Crown Point.

On the day of the walk you may purchase tickets at The Artful Garden; Elizinga Farm Market; Niemeyer’s Landscape Supply; The Secret Shed; and Walt’s Food Center, Dyer.

These nine wonderful gardens are each special, unique and interesting in their own way.  Featuring ponds, lakes, waterfalls, a French Potager garden, a potting/she shed…(a “she shed” is like a man cave for a lady gardener!).  There are life size bronze statues in one garden and in another, a Victorian claw-footed tub as a feature, and lots of whimsy. Be quiet and maybe you will see a wee one in the Fairy and Pixie gardens and maybe the peacocks in another garden will delight your eyes.  You can romp through the woods, follow a stream or walk through thousands of different kinds of hostas.   Of course, there are abundant, beautiful flowers and plants for your enjoyment.

Call (219) 696-7325

Plan on spending the day with us, journey through the gardens at your own rate of travel – you have all day, 9 to 5.  We look forward to seeing you on July 8.  Enjoy.
