The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is conducting a “Fashionably Late” subscription campaign this spring. This is in response to the overwhelming audience reaction to the LCSO’s first Music Director candidate, Russell Ger.

“Russell is one of six candidates chosen for our Music Director search,” said Tim King, LCSO Interim Executive Director. “His week with us this past November was an absolute highlight.  The audience immediately gave Russell and the members of the LCSO a standing ovation that went on for several minutes. After that experience, the LCSO invites more members of our surrounding communities to hear what our Music Director candidates have to offer. So, we are offering a reduced “Fashionably Late” subscription rate for our final two concerts,” stated King.

Upcoming concerts are Sunday, March 10th, 2019, 3:00 p.m. at the Holdcraft Performing Arts Center in Michigan City with candidate, Mercedes Diaz. Diaz will be the first woman in 15 years to conduct the LCSO. Her program is entitled “MADE IN AMERICA” with music by Bernstein, Gershwin, Duke Ellington and Dvorak.

Subscriptions for these concerts can be purchased online at or by calling 219-362-9020. Subscription prices are $50 for adults and $40 for seniors (60 and over).
