    Get spooked and thrilled this Halloween at Indiana Dunes State Park. Join us for our ever popular Halloween event in the state park! 

10 a.m. – BOO-TIFUL BIRDS

Join the Naturalists in the Nature Center’s bird feeding observation room to learn more about the visitors to our bird feeders. Help us fill the feeders! Registration is required. Attendance is limited. Call the Nature Center at (219) 926-1390.

1-3 p.m. – PUMPKIN DECORATING 

Bring the kids and meet at the Nature Center’s fire ring for some pumpkin craft fun. Free pumpkins provided thanks to the Friends of Indiana Dunes. Registration is required. Attendance is limited. Call the Nature Center at (219) 926-1390.

3-6 p.m. – CAMPSITE DECORATING CONTEST

Judges will determine the spookiest, most creative, funniest, and most original campsites. Campers are encouraged to verbally vote to the campground gate their favorite campsite for the people’s choice award. Winners will be announced at the Nature Center at the beginning of the Owl Prowl Program at 7 p.m. Prizes provided thanks to the Friends of Indiana Dunes.

4-5:30 p.m. – TRICK-OR-TREATING

Our annual tradition takes place this afternoon!  Bring your ghouls and goblins for some trick-or-treating fun in the campgrounds. NOTE: Because of COVID-19 this event will be for campers and their overnight guests ONLY.
7 p.m. – OWL PROWL

For a hootin’ good time join the naturalist at the Nature Center for an easy walk where we try to call in some native owls. Registration is required. Attendance is limited
