The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra is pleased to present From Sea to Shining Sea, a free summer concert made possible by the Michigan City Community Enrichment Corporation. Join us on Saturday, June 18, at 7 pm for a rousing musical celebration performed at the Guy Foremen Amphitheater, Washington Park in Michigan City.
Each year maestro Phil Bauman selects a diverse array of patriotic classics, Broadway show tunes, movie hits and family favorites to delight audiences of all ages. Concert goers will revel in the many
entertaining musical selections in this upbeat performance including “Under the Sea” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Special guest soprano soloist, Betsy Archer, a past winner of the Hoosier STAR competition and graduate of the University of California, Irvine will perform “God Bless America.” Joining her for a duet, as well as performing solo is tenor Emanuel-Cristian Caraman. Originally from Romania and a graduate with a Masters in Music from Indiana University, Caraman has performed with the Chicago New Philharmonic Orchestra, the Los Angeles Opera and the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra.
Join the hundreds who come out to enjoy this free concert each summer. Patrons have a choice of using the permanent seating near the stage, or relaxing on the grassy expanse around the performing area. Bring a picnic, enjoy the park, then culminate your evening with the wonderful sounds of the La Porte County Symphony Orchestra. Admission into the park is $7 per carload for parking. The La Porte County Symphony Orchestra extends a special thank you to the MCCEC for their support in bringing this free concert to the community! Additional support is provided by the La Porte County Convention and Visitors Bureau, South Shore Arts, and the Indiana Arts Commission. For more information visit us on the web at www.lcso.net
