On Saturday, June 18, the Schererville Parks and Recreation Department, in coordination with the Town of Schererville, will be hosting the 25th Annual Celebrate Schererville Parade. This year’s parade theme will be “Celebrating 150 Years,” honoring the Town of Schererville’s 150th Anniversary.
As part of this year’s theme, the Schererville Parks and Recreation Department would like participants to #Scherer their past and present fondest memories of Schererville, while including the 150th Anniversary theme into floats. This year’s parade will start 5:00 PM at the intersection of Joliet Street and Roman Road and head east. At the intersection of Joliet Street and Austin Avenue, the parade will then begin traveling south until its conclusion at Redar Park.
All residents and non-residents are invited to join us at the parade. Children are asked to bring a bag for the candy that will be distributed by businesses, schools, churches, and organizations participating in the parade.
Any interested businesses, schools, churches, or organizations wishing to participate in the parade can contact Maddie Grimm, Recreation Coordinator, at (219) 865-5530 ext. 6102 or email@example.com. Parade applications can be obtained at the Schererville Clerk Treasurer’s Office, Schererville Community Center, or www.schererville.org and must be turned in no later than 12:00 PM on June 15.
Any parade weather updates will be posted at www.schererville.org and the Parks and Recreation Department’s Facebook page at “Schererville Parks & Recreation.”
