On Friday, 9/9/22, at 6 PM CST is AMERICA’S HIKE, led by Ron Seman, at West Beach, where one gets to get a sneak peak of the patriotic obstacle course the military, first responders and others are going to compete on 9/11/22.

This hike will start at the base of the Diana of the Dunes Dare staircase, representing the Twin Towers’ staircases, and proceed to the beach to see the sunset. West Beach represents the beach of Normandy. Then during twilight we will return to the parking lot.

Then those wanting to continue the extraordinary adventure under starlight and 98.3% FULL MOON light and flashlight will proceed on a night hike on sand representing the Mideast. Into the forest representing the jungles of Vietnam we will travel.

We will return after the 2.2 mile adventure to the same parking lot we departed from. This is self-paced so you can enjoy it at the speed you are comfortable at.

The opportunity to experience the AMERICA’S RACE course with incredible patriotism will take your breathe away and leave you speechless and is a once in a lifetime experience in any National Park or simply anywhere elsewhere.

Email IndianaDunesHiking@Gmail.Com to see if there is still space for AMERICA’S HIKE. Parking spaces are more limited at West Beach over this weekend because of the events. One may not be able to be able to compete in AMERICA’S RACE but one can appreciate the course like nowhere in America on this self-paced AMERICA’S HIKE.

(DO Email ALL questions on AMERICA’S HIKE to IndianaDunesHiking@Gmail.Com and DON’T leave a question as a comment because answers are ONLY given via the above email!)

Later On This Weekend On Sunday . . .
On 9/11/22 arrive at West Beach by 8:30 AM if you can get a spot. Over three hundred motorcycles from veteran groups will be starting the ceremony. A military helicopter is currently planned to be circulating. Learn more about LEON’S HEROES or enter the competition at www.LeonsTriathlon.com
Hardships are understood and scholarships are available for AMERICA’S RACE on 9/11/22 . AMERICA’S HIKE has NO FEE on 9/9/22.
(West Beach is an Indiana Dunes National Park location and requires a National Park pass. Prevent monstrous backups and get your pass at the Visitor Center of the Indiana Dunes National Park prior to 9/9/22. There are free passes available for veterans, active military, those on permanent disability, 4th graders and there are a variety of ones. Stop by the Visitor Center to learn about them. A pass to the Indiana Dunes State Park is NOT valid at the Indiana Dunes National Park. )
