Duneland Ski Club is Open for Membership

Duneland Ski Club of Northwest Indiana is now open for membership.  New officers have been elected and installed and a full schedule of ski trips has been set up.  Ski club meetings are held on the third Monday of each month at 7:30 pm at The Gary Sportsmen’s Club, 10101 Madison St., Crown Point, IN 46307 (SE corner of 101st & Madison).

New officers include Bill Leavitt (president), Bill Stover (V.P.), JoAnn Cleek (treasurer), Jean Gassoway (secretary), and board members:  Mary Golding, Kim Hart-Zaijcek, Allan Nalbor and Cheryl Wytovich.  New winter ski trip leaders are Charlie Cleek (Western Trips) and Pete Resetar (Midwest Trips).

2017-2018 ski trips planned so far include Sun Valley, Idaho; Steamboat, Colorado; Shuss Mountain, Michigan; and Cascade Mountain, Wisconsin.  One or more one-day drive-up trips are also in planning stages.

All trips have space for those who want to go.  However, because ski areas require fall commitments, extra spaces on some trips will not be available for long.  The Sun Valley trip, especially, is a fabulous deal at $1400, including airfare into Sun Valley, lodging and lift tickets.  We have 43 people signed up so far, but sign-up ends on October 16.

More information, including a membership application, can be found on the Duneland website (DunelandSkiClub.com) or by emailing the president at [email protected] (Three “Ls”).

Duneland Ski Club is a member of the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council and the Indiana Ski Council.
