Downtown Highland will be the venue for the Town’s 2020 Downtown Car Cruise on Saturday, June 6th, 2020 from 1pm to 5pm. The event will be hosted by the Highland Main Street Board, in conjunction with the Highland Redevelopment Commission.
The event will feature scores of vintage cars, parked in Highland’s downtown, along Highway Avenue and Jewett Street, from Kennedy Avenue to 5th Street. The event is free, and open to all ages. During the event, visitors will be able to stop in and frequent downtown businesses that are open.
The event will be operated by Thunder Road, out of Lansing, Illinois. There is no entry fee to participate.
Highway Avenue, between Kennedy and 5th Street, as well as 4th Street, between Jewett and Condit, will be closed to traffic beginning at 11:00 am on the morning of the event. Participating cars will be directed to park, after traffic is cleared from Highway Avenue. Event parking for the public will be located in the municipal parking lots on the southeast and southwest corners of Highway Avenue and Kennedy Avenue.
