The Crown Point Sports Plex will be undergoing a $1 million dollar improvement project.
Plans for new turf infields, proper drainage, and more infrastructure are needed to support the turf. The Project totaling $977,000 will be performed by Austgen Equipment.
City Experts expect the work to be completed in time for the softball and baseball season.
“The Sportsplex draws in tens-of-thousands of athletes and visitors annually,” stated Crown Point Mayor Pete Land. “The City of Crown Point continues to make improvements to this 95-acre destination Sportplex for youth and adult sports,” he continued.
The City will continue to make capital improvements to the Sportsplex as needed to maintain and improve the facility’s award-winning amenities.
Once the project is complete, nine of the 12 fields will have turf infields.
