It’s time again for the annual Crown Point Corn Roast. Corn is king of the two-day event. The hours will be 5pm-11pm on Friday night the event will continues on Saturday from Noon-11pm, the beer garden will open at 5pm both days.
The Corn Roast is hosted by the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce and has been an annual tradition in Crown Point for decades. DJs at Work perform from 5-7 p.m. and family-friendly trivia and contests are from 5-6 p.m.
Attendees also can enjoy the park’s splash pad, games and kids activities, and live music in the new amphitheater/band shell that accommodates 1,500 people for concerts and theater performances.
Sweet and succulent, the Indiana-grown corn is cooked in its husks, then roasted on the grill, seasoned just with a sprinkling of salt and pepper and then slathered with butter.
Don’t forget, there’s always a Beer Garden, games, and an expanded footprint for vendors and concessions inside the new pavilion area (a rain or shine facility). Ample parking is available at the nearby school parking lot west of Bulldog Park.
