IBT continues to be in constant contact with the local health department, as well as international and local educators and directors in dance. They have collaboratively supported one another as they transitioned to virtual learning through the start of the pandemic. Student and family safety are our first priority, and we continue to follow health recommendations as we return to in-person and hybrid learning.
THEY CONTINUE TO GROW
They also continue in-person education, with an ongoing option for zooming their classes, which has been a very successful and safe option for our teachers and students. Their students have continued to grow and blossom and they have provided performance opportunities for our dancers and local communities. We continue to train, audition, perform, and spread the joy of dancing!
Their virtual classes were a comfort for our children as they were initially sent home for the first quarantine March of 2020. Zoom continues to be a source of support at IBT.
2021 WITH IBT
This year has started with gusto at IBT! As they continue classes, our students are training and learning new dance choreography for our 2021 outdoor performance review in June. They are also planning virtual classes for the community, to provide opportunities to move and dance for everyone.
The IBT Company, ranges from pre-professional and adult professional dancers, are excited to have started rehearsing for a very special, heart-full Kaliedoscope 2021, a tribute to Molley Lanham. Choreographed by IBT alumni Lindsey Lanham, bringing back familiar IBT alumni faces, as well as their current Company dancers. More information coming soon!
IBT’s Kristy Victor and Amanda Tuohy are initiating a new choreographic collaborative piece for our contemporary jazz showcase “Standing Room Only.” They will be featuring eight major works by Company choreographer and modern dance instructor Christie Kamanaroff, a Columbia College graduate from the Dance and Performing Arts Department. Performance dates, showtimes, and location coming soon!
