Where to Go For Christmas Lights

     Seems like the one thing popular this year during the Pandemic is to go see Christmas lights from the safety of your own car. We’ve compiled a list of Very Popular places for you to enjoy in the Northwest Indiana Region.
     Folks are wanting to celebrate the season and give their families the joy of the season, and seeing Christmas lights is a growing activity.

CEDAR LAKE:

CHESTERTON:
Bozak Family Christmas Light SHow Burns Harbor Indiana Valpolife e1669830322507     Bozak Family Light Show, Burns Harbor, 2022,

    Logans Lights, 463 E. Greening Rd., Donations go to Toys for Tots. The lights come on from 4:30pm until about 9:30pm every day beginning the day after Thanksgiving and ending on Christmas. We take them down on December 26th.

CROWN POINT:

   Gard’s Christmas Display,  A lot of vintage bulbs go into the display every year. New bulbs just don’t have the richness of color, and are too bright. All year he searches auctions and sales for strings and boxes of bulbs, and it all comes together in December. The Gard Christmas Display is located at 441 S East St, Crown Point Indiana, 46307. It will be running nightly thru New Years Eve, from sunset until midnight. Facebook.

    Holton Ridge west of Crown Point Square. Is renamed as Candy Cane Lane at Christmas time, whole group of houses are lighted up,  just north of square (off Summit) neighborhood light extravaganza.

    Tour of Lights – December 7th – 11th, 2022 The Tour of Lights  to participate can call 219-662-3290 to sign up. Residents will be able to vote for their favorite house and view the map of all the decorated homes signed up beginning Saturday, December 12th on our website www.crownpoint.in.gov. The winner will be announced at the January City Council Meeting on January 4th at 7pm.
   Christmas on 124th Ave. 2022  7731 E. 124th Ave., Winfield (Lakes of Four Seasons) Facebook Lights on from 5pm – 10pm.  Enjoy thousands of lights synchronized to music from November 25-January 2.
   Thornhill Lights, 2021,     Facebook Page. The Musical show restarts every 25 minutes, runs nightly from Thanksgiving to New Years Day form 4:30pm to 10pm. Stop by and enjoy the show. station 98.3

DYER:
     Magical LIght Show, Opening Nov 26th 2022 –
Enjoy the Magical Light Show. When parking please turn off headlights (you can also park in Stardust parking north side). The light show is best seen without any other lights. Also please be respectful to our neighbors. : Please park behind in stardust parking and walk over through the field. We always have issues with too much traffic so avoid it and just park.         Rodda’s Winter Wonderland Decorated Home 2022 in Dyer (2833 Lancelot Lane) One of the largest displays in Northwest Indiana. The display is lit every night from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve. Santa Claus and the Grinch make appearances on Saturday evenings, so come by with your family and friends, take pictures, make memories, and enjoy the Christmas Season! Website
     North Pole on Northgate: 2021 (Please let us know if they have their lights up this year) 509 Northgate Dr.,  What started out as a collection of inflatables has turned into an LED explosion of lights, figurines, a walkway and a kaleidoscope of colors all over the place. Enjoy from your car or take a walk under the illuminated archways down the sidewalk. On nightly until midnight!
     Christmas on Aspen, 2021 (Please let us know if they have their lights up this year) Open every day from 5pm – 11pm,
 You can find it at 544 Aspen Dr. Feel free to take pics with the classic Santa in front of the garage or if you’re looking for something a little more interesting you can take pics by the 12 foot skeleton Santa. Driving around the neighborhood I’m seeing a lot more people decorating this year so I just want to say I’m very proud of the people of Pheasant hills and Dyer as a whole. This is their third Christmas for their Light Display.

GRIFFITH:
     502 S. Rensselaer, 2022 Begins November 23 and runs 5:00pm – 10:00pm nightly. Feel free to walk around on the sidewalk and up to the garage. Decorated front, side, and a North Pole scene in garage.

HOBART:
    Peters Family Decorated Home, 2022.  3635 E. 33rd Ave.,   Show runs daily through New Years day. Light show is timed to music and can be listened to in your car on 92.7FM 6pm to 10pm daily until New Years Day.

     “Bozman Delightful Christmas,” 2022, There’s some new additions to the 2020 light show. There are new Handpainted scenes this year. Thanks to Jamie from Jamie’s Custom Tattoos he hand painted all my wood displays. He does awesome work. So come take a drive by check it out. It’s at 6440 Gaywood Ave Portage In .      Lights Located at 2063 Karen St. Come see our musical light show! Mon-Thur 5:30pm to 10pm; Friday, Sat & Sun 5:30pm to 11pm. Send a letter to Santa in our North Pole mailbox! (If you put a letter in, we will send one back – please include a self-addressed/stamped envelope with your child’s letter). This entire cul-de-sac is decorated!

RENSSELAER, INDIANA
     5174 N. US 231, Rensselaer. 48 channel computerized musical, all LED Christmas display including a 20 foot mega tree and animated Arches and Leapers. 5pm – 10pm nightly, Tune in 88.1 radio.

SCHERERVILLE:

     Festival of Lights, 2022, this is a walking tour of trees in the Park, vote on your favorite tree, held at Prairie West Park, 93rd Ave and W. Oakridge Dr., hosted by parks and rec.     Red Lily way Christmas Light Show, 2022, From Thursday November 26,  through Dec. 31st., runs daily from 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm. NEW LOCATION: 14245 W 96th Ave. Run time for each show is approximately 45 minutes. Many new props in 2022, new songs and videos on the mega wreath. This year will include an antique cutter sleigh to climb in for photo ops on selective nights, an interactive naughty/nice meter that children can push to know if they have been nice.
