The Annual Chesterton Art Fair features more than 60+ “juried” artists including residents of Lake, LaPorte and Porter counties and is THE Art Event of the year will be held the first weekend in August 7TH AND 8TH, 2021. The benefit of having a “juried art show” is that you really get quality art when it’s a juried fair.
In addition, the artists that are coming work in all kinds of media. Drawing, glass, jewelry, painting, metalwork, clay and fiber, photography, jewelry, clothing, pottery, will all be there.
Dogwood Park has proven to be a great location, providing ample space to expand and the park has an “all – flat” landscape. Parking is close, easy, and free. A handicap parking area right in front makes the fair accessible for all.
The fair features a children’s art experience booth. Children can come in and create art of their own to take home with them. There are several different kinds of art projects that children can create and take with them, making them feel like they are part of the whole art experience.
The Chesterton Art Fair is the largest fundraiser for the Chesterton Art Center, which recently celebrated its 60th year serving the Duneland community. The Chesterton Art Center has 3 gallery spaces, classrooms, and a member’s gallery as well as an artisan gift shop.
Classes are offered year-round for all ages. Whether you are 3 years old in preschool or a senior citizen, you can learn how to bake clay, paint, make jewelry, or learn how to take beautiful photos with your cell phone camera. Members of the Art Center receive a discount on purchases and classes and receive the digital newsletter every month.
Wendy Marciniak, who is President of the Art Center is also chairman of the fair. Dogwood Park’s address is 1415 S. 23rd St., Chesterton, In 46304, and is more centrally located only a mile off Interstate 94 and the toll road, which makes it easy for out-of-town visitors to find.
