The Challenger Learning Center features hands-on, family-friendly science activities for kids and grown-ups alike with a focus on environmental stewardship, the effects of climate change and pollution on daily life, and astronomy topics such as the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
Attendees learn spring stargazing tips, visit space through breathtaking imagery, and enjoy a colorful journey across the 4 seasons through a series of planetarium presentations scheduled to run every 25-30 minutes.
They are always coming up with new ideas for patrons to explore. For example in partnership with Challenger Learning Center, the Dunes Learning Center brought in their newest examination tool, the ProScope, which allowed guests to examine invertebrate found in local water sources.
In addition to the many science programs, guests can visit Challenger’s Galaxy Gift Shop to purchase their very own astronaut ice cream, plant-growing kits or other unique gifts that are of interest to space enthusiasts of all ages.
Families can register online now, or pay at the door day for their various activities. However, guests pre-registration is highly suggested.
