The newest of Valparaiso’s Parks venue, Central Plaza is located in downtown Valparaiso and offers plenty of space for weddings, group services, special events, entertainment needs and much more.
Central Plaza features include the Porter Health Amphitheater and lawn, splash-pad water play area, handicap-accessible restrooms, and a seating capacity of 150. The facility includes the Porter Health Amphitheater, the southern half of the lawn area, crowd control barricades, standard 110 amp outlets, restrooms, some permanent tables and seating.
The area hosts Ice skating in the winter, Farmer’s Markets in the Summer, and free Movies in the park on Tuesdays, and Splash pad in the summer along with several private events throughout the year. Central Plaza has won awards for their Free summer rhapsody music festival, occurring on Thursday nights in July and August.
Most events require bringing your own lawn chairs or blankets. Once a year, they host the FREE Symphony Under the stars by the Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra – also on a Thursday night.
It is also the home to the Annual Popcorn Festival, International World Fest, Lakeshore Paws Walk, Front Porch Music Festival, Valpo Brewfest, Valpo Winefest, Kiwanis Corn Roast and many more Annual Festivals.

Valparaiso Indiana Changes Recycling Policies -2023
The City of Valparaiso’s Common Council approved amendments to Chapter 53 of the City’s Municipal Code which concerns the regulation of refuse and recycling collections. This ordinance addresses commercial and residential recycling. The last day of commercial recycling services at your location will be on Friday, December 30, 2022.
