BulletsoverBroadway finale

Brilliant Choreography in “Bullets over Broadway”

**** Recommended ****  “Bullets over Broadway” is a musical adaptation of Woody Allen’s 1994 movie.  The story is a mash-up of those black and white gangster/Broadway movies of the ‘30s and ‘40s that run late at night on cable.  With a song list from the ‘20s, some of the songs are perfectly placed, others don’t fit into the story at all.  All that aside, “Bullets over Broadway” has to be one of the most brilliantly choreographed shows I’ve seen in a while.  I give it 4 Spotlights.

“Bullets over Broadway” runs through May 1st at the PrivateBank Theatre, 18 W. Monroe, Chicago.  Running time is 2 hours, 30 minutes, with an intermission.  Performance days and times can be found at www.broadwayinchicago.com.  Tickets range from $19-$85.  Parking is available at a reduced rate (show your theater tickets, please) in the InterPark garage at 17 East Adams.  FYI (800) 775-2000, all Ticketmaster retail locations and  www.broadwayinchicago.com.
