**** Recommended **** Black Ensemble Theater, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary Season, brings back “Don’t Make Me Over (In Tribute to Dionne Warwick)”. Those of us lucky enough to be in the audience for the opening performance got a special treat, Ms. Warwick was also in the audience. Great music, uber-talented cast, gorgeous costumes, no one does a review better than Black Ensemble. I give “Don’t Make Me Over” 4 Spotlights.
“Don’t Make Me Over (In Tribute to Dionne Warwick)” runs through May 15th at Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark, Chicago. Running time is 2 hours, 15 minutes, with an intermission. Performances are Thursdays at 7:00 pm; Fridays at 8:00 pm; Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 pm; and Sundays at 3:00. Tickets range from $55-$65.
