Bees Disappearing presents an Ethical Dilemma in Victory Garden’s “Queen”

*** Recommended *** Victory Garden’s new production, “Queen” is a fascinating little play about an ethical dilemma.  Playwright Madhuri Shekar has placed her protagonists, two grad students, smack in the middle of an environmental crisis.  Their research, which is about to be published, will explain why bees are disappearing – except suddenly there’s a glitch, a slight skew in the results.  “Queen” is smart, insightful and very, very relevant.  3 ½ Spotlights.

“Queen” runs through May 14th at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, Chicago. Running time is 1 hour, 30 minutes, no intermission. Performances are Tuesday through Friday at 7:30 pm; Saturdays at 3:00 and 7:30 pm; and Sundays at 3:00 pm. Tickets range from $15-$60. Valet parking is available.
