Becky Mateja Lombardini Running Porter County Council

     Becky Mateja Lombardini, MPA officially filed at the Porter County Administration Building her intentions to run for the vacated position of the Porter County Council District 1, in  2022. 

     Mateja brings a wealth of education, experience, and work ethic to the race.  The NWI born and raised, 20 year Porter County Resident, (living in Chesterton) and Indiana Basketball Hall of Famer, is heavily involved in the community from coaching to Rotary since she was a scholar to Australia in 1991.
     This family value driven woman has worked for Johnson and Johnson at Ford, Community Health Care Systems, and owned a Union printing/ marketing/ business development shop in Whiting Indiana.
     Currently Mateja teaches at Indiana University Northwest (25 ys) where she looks forward to working with the new Chancellor Mr. Ken Iwama and Congressman Frank Mrvan to enhance the offerings and area. Her ultimate goal is for living wage jobs, a safe environment, and a better quality of life. 
    “There are many issues that need to be addressed and I have always been able to bring folks together for the greater good.” Mateja said.  The caucus was held Oct 21 at the USW 6787 in Burns Harbor where District Committeepersons voted. 
     Becky is hosted a Fundraiser for the Porter County Democrats called  “Bowl Your Turkey Off” Fundraiser held last in December  Inmans Bowling and Recreation, Valparaiso, Indiana.
